The Messenger of Allāh, may Allāh exalt his mention and grant him safety, said, “Whoever sets out on a path seeking knowledge, Allāh will make easy for him a path to Paradise.”1From the Hadīth of Abū Hurairah that is related by Muslim

The great Ḥadīth scholar, Shaykh ‘Abdul-Muḥsin al-Abbād, may Allāh protect him, said about this Ḥadīth:

In this Hadīth is an encouragement to seek Islāmic knowledge and to tread the paths that will lead to attaining it, whether it be traveling to seek knowledge or carrying out the means to attain it. Some of these means are collecting beneficial books, reading them, benefitting from them, clinging to the scholars and learning from them, and other than that from the means of attaining knowledge.

The reward for that from Allāh is that He will make easy the path by which a student of knowledge arrives at Paradise. That occurs by aiding him to attain what he made his goal, and because of that [help], he will attain knowledge. Aid also occurs by helping him act by the Islāmic rulings he has learned, and the result of that is entrance into Paradise.2Taken From: “Explanation of Forty Ḥadīth” by Shaykh ‘Abdul-Muḥsin al-Abbād, pg. 150
